Inspiration from Archie

With more time on my hands and my desire to create new artistic works, I perused the web to view the works of many new artists. I began dabbling in a little of everything trying to figure out what it is that I want to share through my art at this time. This little guy is the one that inspired me to focus on pet portraits. After painting Archie, I researched what pet portraits were selling for. Most artists were charging $300.00 or more for the same or similar size work. Believe me, their works and effort are well worth every dime of that cost. Each pet portrait takes approximately 6 - 14 hours depending on the complexity. The average time is about 8-10 hours spent on your portrait. Add to that the cost of materials and $300.00 is certainly a fair value, but one that not all families can afford.

Archie is a rescue pup and like Archie, I also have two rescue pets of my own, they are cats who truly live up to their names, Princess and Lady. This is what inspired me to create My Best Friend Pet Portraits and start my prices below fair value, so even modest families with average incomes could afford an original portrait of their precious loved ones.
Additionally, you can take solice in knowing that your purchase is helping a rescue pet somewhere in the world. After submitting my tithe, I will be donating $5.00 from every pet portrait purchase to one of various pet rescue organizations and $5.00 from each of my other works to one of the various homeless, and or children missions. It's not much, but as those who volunteer will attribute, every little bit helps and united we can make a difference. I will periodically provide updates of which rescue operations the donations were applied.
